Climate Science Series for Grades 9-12: October Event

On October 30th, 15 teachers representing 10 school districts met at ESD 113 in Tumwater to take a deep-dive into public opinion data vs student ideas and actions, implications for teaching climate science, and the creation of an initial Model to explain their understanding of the Greenhouse Effect. The participants ended the day by performing a Critical Friends Protocol to determine the validity of each group’s explanation of the structure and function of the Greenhouse Effect. This group will reconvene in January and March with periodic ZOOM meetings.
