Snohomish Conservation District

The Snohomish Conservation District (SCD) produced a short video showcasing 3 local agricultural producers and the effects that they are already seeing on their farms from a changing climate.

In a webinar series, SCD will demonstrate how secondary teachers can incorporate this video into their classrooms to provide students with a real, current connection to the topic of climate change. Accompanying curriculum will prepare teachers to explore the issues that we face here in Snohomish County and Washington State.

Curriculum developed by the REACCH project will be introduced to teachers as a resource for implementing ready-made lessons into their classrooms.

Using this lens, teachers can discuss the specific impacts of climate change in our area and to influence the way that students look at the big picture of climate change.

Teacher Professional Learning

In each one-hour webinar session, teachers will be introduced to the newly produced video, lesson planning curriculum, and additional resources for taking a dive into the local effects of climate change on agriculture in Snohomish County.
