Chewelah Students Explore Food Waste and present at the North American Association for Environmental Education

Students from Chewelah alternative school explored why food waste is listed as the 3rd most important thing humans can do globally to drawdown their contribution to greenhouse gasses. The students collected and measured their own food waste for one day, calculated the amount of green house gas each individual contributed and the cost of the food wasted. Each student’s food waste was calculated at 61 cents per students.
