Collaborating for Ambitious Science Teaching (CASTL)

CASTL teachers attended a three-day institute (June 30, 31 and Feb 7) exploring climate impacts on the Southern Resident Killer Whales to better understand the teaching innovations needed to support students with the Next Generation Science Standards.

Teachers Working on Whale-Salmon Model to Answer the Question: “Do we really have to stop eating Salmon to save the Whales?”

Teachers then tried some of these teaching innovations in their classrooms and return for Reflective Planning Days. Here they share the work of their students to better understand the impacts of their teaching.
