Wonder of Science graphic organizers deepen understanding of weather fronts

What was tried in the classroom?

Students explored systems using a Wonder of Science graphic organizer in their Weather and climate unit. ISB Education shared the graphic organizer and demonstrated it’s use in context during the Crosscutting Concepts woven through core science units workshop.

How’d it go?

Sixth-grade students at Lochburn Middle school have achieved remarkable success while using crosscutting concept specific graphic organizers to deepen their understanding of weather fronts during their exploration of the OpenSciEd Weather, Climate, and Water Cycling unit. These innovative tools have enabled our students to visualize and comprehend complex meteorological concepts with greater clarity. As a result, they have not only excelled in their academic performance but have also developed a newfound passion for studying weather patterns and climate. The graphic organizers shared by ISB Education have truly transformed the way our students engage with science, fostering a sense of curiosity and accomplishment in their learning journey.
