Join Pacific Education Institute (PEI) and our ClimeTime partners to take a deep dive into the ecology of wildfires and climate change, focusing on the South Sound region.
Participants will learn about the Solutions Oriented Learning Storyline format, designed around six guiding principles: Indigenous perspectives, local anchoring phenomena, culturally responsive instructional practices, NGSS three-dimensional student growth measures, and a solutions-oriented approach to managing forests as a climate change mitigation strategy. Participants will also explore carbon drawdown relating to forest management to support opportunities for elevating student voice in the classroom.
This in-person opportunity will be held at the Meyer’s Point Environmental Field Station in Olympia. Additional location details to follow via email. We recommend bringing a sack lunch, as only 30 minutes will be provided for lunch.
