This full-day workshop engaged educators in deepening understandings of Indigenous education through relationship with land, water, and place. Participants will read selected chapters from Power and Place: Indian Education in America and engage discussion and activities with co-author Dr. Daniel Wildcat as well as local Indigenous educators. The session will examine issues faced by Indigenous students as they progress through PK-12 school. Participants will engage land education as theory, curriculum, and pedagogy and develop strategies and commitments to enact land education in their teaching.
Complimentary copies of Power and Place: Indian Education in America will be available for each registered participant. Books will be delivered to your school.
