The Climate Justice League is a regional cohort of teachers that work together to plan, implement, and reflect on a series of classroom lessons or unit that engages students in climate science learning and issues of social justice.

Description:
This field-based course focuses on solutions that support equity and justice that are currently being implemented in Whatcom County. Teaching for the Climate Collaborative will guide participants through classroom-ready STEM activities that illustrate how climate change is affecting different stakeholders and ecosystems. Community members will share their expertise in developing solutions. Participants, while together, will co-design bringing engineering design solutions into the classroom.

Event Notes:
As a member of the Climate Justice League, you will receive:

  • $600 stipend upon completion
  • 20 STEM clock hours
  • Professional learning and resources for social justice and climate justice teaching
  • Collaboration and support as you plan and reflect on your lessons
