  • Advocate for school science programs that support Chief Leschi Schools & tribal missions.
    • “Rooted in traditional values, Chief Leschi Schools provides a culturally and academically rich
      environment that prepares our students for future success.”
  • Analyze, pilot, and modify NGSS-designed science units → Goals for 2019-20:
    • Become more skillful and knowledgeable with NGSS and Indigenous science practices.
    • Use NextGen TIME tools to analyze and implement climate units with students.
    • Use Chief Leschi Schools Ways of Indigenous Science & Engineering (WISE) to localize a unit
      for indigenous students

  • Use materials analysis tool, NextGenTIME to screen units for supports for student progress
  • Begin to consider unit modifications to localize climate units for indigenous students

January 11, February 1 and March 14, 2020

  • Use NextGenTIME to screen units for student opportunities to model their thinking

April 1, April 18 and May 13, 2020

  • Use “Ways of Indigenous Science & Engineering” guidance to begin adapting units for indigenous students
