After two years of struggle, let’s get students engaged in meaningful academic discourse that tends to Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and equity.
Presenters:
Lorianne Donovan-Hermann, Becky Neher
Description:
Science teaching aims to support students of all backgrounds to deeply understand science ideas. In this book study participants will explore the Ambitious Science Teaching (AST) framework. AST has four core sets of teaching practices:
- Planning for engagement with important science ideas
- Eliciting student ideas
- Supporting ongoing changes and thinking
- Pressing for evidence-based explanations
Join us to explore how you can support better student thinking and create science literate citizens to solve future problems and prepare students for STEM careers.
